Faridah Rashid Seif

Series of events

She started Human Rights Activities in the year 1990, advocating for women rights in the community and government leadership. She worked in the Coast Province in Mombasa as the Chairperson of Maendeleo ya Wanawake in Mvita Division from the year 1990 up to 1995. She also served as the treasurer Coast Province in the year 1996 upto 2002. Thereafter she served at treasury county division from 2002 upto now. Having acquired sufficient experience in advocating  for human rights, She registered an organization on February  2010 by the name KEMWA (Kenya Muslim Women Alliance). She was selected amongst many for Paralegal Training by FIDA(Federation of Women Lawyers) on December 2002. For her passion of service in the community, she was appointed to serve in the community on different capacities as follows below:

Appointed as the Board of Directors, Member of Ronald Ngala Utalii Academy November 2010 to September 2013, by office of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Kenya by Hon. Najib Balala, EGH, MP

2012 Women of Courage Award by The Embassy of the United States of America for her dedication to fighting the scourge of drugs and promoting good governance in the communities throughout.
World Drugs Day 2011award to Kenya Muslim Women Alliance. Certified by Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya recognised the effort, services and professional support towards fighting drug abuse.

USAID-Kenya, Award in recognition of a Successful partnership with USAID-Kenya through the Kenya Transition Initiation programme 2013
Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National government 2015 awards on the completion of a ToT Training Course for Leaders of Community Based Organisations (CBOs) on National Cohesion and National Values held at The Kenya School of Government, Mombasa Campus.
